A myown360 feedback report gives you a wealth of information about how others see you, and to get the maximum benefit from this we recommend that you have a debrief from one of our skilled debriefers.
The debriefer will review the report with you and help you to:
- Identify all the messages it contains.
- Assess whether the feedback is fair comment on how you behave.
- Identify areas in which you would benefit from development.
- Identify specific actions to take as a result.
The debrief will normally be by telephone and you will have had the chance to look at the report online beforehand. You can also print a copy. It may be possible to arrange a face to face debrief by agreement with your debriefer.
The main benefits of having a facilitated debrief are:
- Although the report will usually contain a wealth of data, it is still ultimately perception rather than fact. It should be understood as an invitation to reflection – by itself it does not tell you what is important or how to respond. A skilled debrief helps you to begin this reflection.
- It ensures the report is viewed in the round and all possible insights are extracted from it. It reduces risk of cherry-picking bits of good or bad news.
- The debrief will have highlighted your strengths too, and this usually results in increased self-confidence.
- It helps you to identify where and how you want to take action. A good debrief will result in you coming away with a greater degree of self-awareness, commitment and the energy to make changes.
If you want a debrief, Select “360 with debrief” on the payment screen. You will be contacted by a myown360 debriefer to arrange a mutually convenient time to discuss your report.
If you are in an organisation, then please talk to us about either providing debriefers for you or training for your own internal staff to conduct debriefs.
We recognise however that not everybody will be able to have a facilitated debrief and so reports come with guidance about how to read, interpret and respond to them.
